About
Clinical Career Launch
Nursing school prepares you to pass boards, but it does not always prepare you to compete for selective residency programs or navigate the realities of your first year in practice.
Clinical Career Launch was created to bridge that gap.
RN residency applications are reviewed by panels of nurses, educators, and hiring managers who evaluate far more than GPA. They are looking for communication skills, leadership potential, self-awareness, cultural fit, and long-term career trajectory.
Clinical Career Launch is a structured coaching program that helps nursing students approach this process strategically and confidently while also preparing for the transition into professional practice.
Through workshops, cohort programs, and 1:1 coaching, students learn how to:
• Build resumes that highlight impact, not just tasks
• Answer behavioral interview questions with clarity and structure
• Understand what hiring panels are truly evaluating
• Communicate their clinical strengths with confidence
• Navigate professional expectations within healthcare teams
• Develop the skills needed to succeed in the first year of practice
• Approach the application process with strategy instead of anxiety

RN-Residency ready!
Meet the Coach
Amanda Waddell, MSN, RN, NE-BC
I understand the nurse residency process from both perspectives.
I began my career as a new graduate in a nurse residency program, navigating the same uncertainty and competition that many nursing students face today. Over time, I moved into nursing leadership roles where I participated in screening, interviewing, and hiring new graduate nurses.
That experience gave me a clear understanding of what truly stands out in a competitive residency pool and what hiring teams are evaluating beyond grades and checklists.
Today, I work as a nurse leader within a health system, where I focus on initiatives that support nurse career development, engagement, and long-term professional success. Much of my work centers on helping early-career nurses successfully transition into practice and navigate the challenges of their first years in the profession.
My coaching style is structured, strategic, and supportive. I do not believe in generic advice. I believe in preparation, clarity, and confidence built through intentional practice.
When we work together, you will not only strengthen your resume. You will learn how to communicate your value as a future nurse with clarity, professionalism, and confidence.
